NEW YORK, NY - October 4, 2007: Scalix, the premier award-winning Linux e-mail, calendaring and messaging company, today announced the release of Scalix 11.2, with significant new features to support hosted multi-tenant environments, the latest Linux servers, and enhanced Microsoft Outlook facilities for mobile devices. Scalix 11.2 allows application service providers (ASPs) to host multiple customers on a single Scalix server without the use of virtualization. They can now easily subdivide a single Scalix installation into multiple independent partitions, each with its own address book and global address list.

“We are moving into the service provider space with hosted Exchange-like functionality at a competitive price, with a low footprint and the benefits of administration as derived from a Linux-based solution,” said Andreas Typaldos, Xandros CEO. “As a result users will benefit from high-availability collaboration services using their rich client of choice, including Microsoft Outlook and the Ajax-based, Scalix Web Access in Firefox or Internet Explorer.”

Commercial editions of Scalix 11.2 also provide full Scalix Connect support for synchronization of devices running Windows Mobile 2005 or Windows Mobile 6 with Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 against Outlook 2003 over USB. Both the commercial and community editions of Scalix 11.2 now support 32- and 64- bit versions of Fedora 7 and openSUSE 10.2 (commercial support is currently for evaluation purposes only). The commercial and open source community editions of Scalix 11.2 are available for immediate download at www.scalix.com.
