HP

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. 16 Oct 2007: Oracle and HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced that they have teamed to deliver complete software, hardware and service solutions tailored to midsize companies. These new offerings are comprised of unique combinations of Oracle® Accelerate solutions and HP reference configurations and are designed to offer midsize companies a proven, easy-to-own solution that enables them to achieve faster time-to-value. HP and Oracle will promote this new offering by launching a global tour of customer-focused events. HP reference configurations for Oracle are guidelines for HP servers, storage and software that are based on joint HP and Oracle engineering expertise and best practices. The HP-approved configurations, which support midsize company user counts of 25, 50, 100 or 200, can save customers valuable configuration time and provide guidance when deploying Oracle on HP hardware.

The cost-effective, low-risk Oracle and HP solutions enable growing businesses to achieve a tangible return on their IT investments. The combination of Oracle Accelerate solutions with HP’s reference configurations for Oracle gives customers and partners flexibility, scalability and a range of options to optimize continuity, security and efficiency at a lower total cost of ownership and according to unique business requirements. “In order for businesses to be competitive in today’s global marketplace they need to be enabled with affordable, easy-to-own IT solutions that are as powerful and secure as enterprise systems,” said Oracle Senior Vice President, Global Accelerate Program Office, Tony Kender. “With hardware from a platform industry leader like HP and world-class applications from Oracle, customers can address their entire spectrum of IT challenges in a single instance and within budget.”

The offering from Oracle and HP combines Oracle Accelerate solutions with a range of HP storage and server technology, including the HP BladeSystem c3000, HP StorageWorks products, and HP ProLiant and HP Integrity servers. Specifically, customers and partners can currently take advantage of these proven application configurations based on HP server and storage technology for the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. More information about the HP reference configurations for Oracle Accelerate solutions is available at www.hp.com/solutions/oracle/accelerate.

Additionally, customers can benefit from a performance advantage running Oracle Applications on HP infrastructure. As a result of HP’s sustained engineering investment in Oracle Applications and technologies, HP now owns the top 6 positions for published Oracle E-Business Suite small configuration benchmarks. The benchmark environment is tailored for 600-1000 online users, and the results have been certified by an independent audit firm.

“With Oracle, we’re offering midsize businesses combined solutions developed with their unique needs in mind,” said Urs Renggli, director, worldwide small and midmarket business, Technology Solutions Group, HP. “We are pleased to be helping customers reduce cost, mitigate risk and grow their business through our joint solutions.”

“Our business was running on multiple non-integrated systems that were no longer supported. We needed a complete, integrated solution that could scale easily to meet changing demands, so we selected Oracle, DAZ Systems, Inc. and HP,” said Road Runner Sports, Chief Operating Officer, Diane Kath. “That solution is currently being used successfully in all areas of our business and we have been able to customize a new warehouse facility based on our unique requirements. This would have been impossible to accomplish with our legacy system and without a system that could accommodate our growth.”

Complete Solution Helps Partners Expand Reach

Partners have an opportunity to take advantage of the joint offering from Oracle and HP by adding industry-specific expertise or services relevant to their target market or current customer base. Additionally, the solution helps facilitate collaboration between Oracle Accelerate Partners and HP resellers and service providers, allowing each to extend their market presence outside of traditional local geographies.
